550 5.7.1 Your email messages have been blocked by Trend Micro Email Reputation Service

hi,

ive started a thread at technet (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrtransport/thread/d2e6c2d5-f212-4b46-b9ea...) about this but still no valuable help so here we go:

hi,

im having issues outlook sending mails trough smtp outside our lan... which means when when the pc is in the server lan smtp works just fine with port 25 and even with port 587 using authentification and tls. but when getting home and trying to send an email i will get 550 5.7.1 so... im wondering is it exchange  or firewall?

Hi,

Probably Exchange. I guess that the text is something like relaying not allowed??

Do you authenticate when trying to send from home (this is a must - else your server would be used as an open relay by spammers)

hi,

when testing internal everthing works...

and then external

message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject: Test Email Adress
      Sent: 17.06.2012 10:21

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      'vartaxe' on 17.06.2012 10:21
550 5.7.1 Your email messages have been blocked by the recipient OR by Trend Micro Email Reputation Service. Contact the recipient or his/her administrator using alternate means to resolve the issue.

btw just for information everything else work fine... imap, pop, owa, outlook anywhere, activesync,... it just smtp from external who doesn't.

ps: i now remember i have another problem with our big MFP (konica minolta bizhub) wich can't send pdf to external email domains... it may be related to the same thing but in this case the MFP is internal.

i also can't imagine it having anything todo with trendmicro but... (my ip adress isn't listed @ https://ers.trendmicro.com/ )

i found a post where someone posted the following:

Get-ReceiveConnector"YourClientConnector"| add-adpermission -user AU -extendedrights ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Authoritative-Domain-Sender

should i try that?

Look at your SMTP protocol logs and the agent logs. Use
http://mxtoolbox.com and check to see if your IP address is in any
DNSBL that you use.

hi,

the ip adress isn't blacklisted...

also performed all tests from testexchangeconnectivity.com and everything passed/is ok (green)

in the otherside using the tools from mxtoolbox.com i get the following: (thanks for the link i didn't know that site)

smtp:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxMonitor This

 smtp

hi,

Accroding to your error information, Do you have the  Trend Micro Email Reputation Service.

If you can, can you try to disable the service and test again. May be the service has added your Ip address into a blacklist. So you can't send message at home, because you are using a different address.

afaik we don't run any trend micro email reputation service... our servers and desktops are running

Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Advanced
Version:

7.0 Service Pack 1 build 2360

but no email reputation service....

so here we go... any idea about whats going on?
