Protection Outdated - Please 'Verify' to get latest protection - Big loop

Hi i'm also getting the 'verify issue' where Trend Micro asks me that to verify the connection to the internet so that I have the latest protection since my protection is "Out Dated". I click "Verify" it opens up another window, doing it's thing, restarts Trend Micro shortly after and asks me to Verify again (one big loop)

I can't scan in Trend Micro or change any settings.

 

I've used Hot Fix Ti_50_win_EN_AMSP20_hfb1037.exe  in an attempt to solve the issue, but the error "This update is not compatible with your current security software.

I've also used Housecall twice now, and found no threats. I did the recommended quick scan, then later a whole new Full scan - nothing turned up.

Whats suspicious to me, is that whenever I google my issue and its coming directly from the Trendmicro.com website, my browser comes up with an error saying the webpage doesn't exist. So I can't actually access any support services or find the telephone numbers on my own computer. I can however on my other computer next door.

 

Could you please run me through a series of steps to flush out this virus or what-ever it is and get my security up and running again?

Do you have a proxy server when you connect to the internet? If you're unsure, you can just match the settings from your Internet Explorer to your Trend Micro program. If you don't use a proxy server/settings on your internet connection, remove this settings on your Trend Micro program.

 

To do this, follow the procedure below:

 

1. Open your Trend Micro Titanium program's main console by double-clicking on the Trend Micro icon on your desktop or in the system tray near your computer's clock.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Other Settings on the left pane, then click Proxy Settings.
4. Clear/untick the box beside "Use a proxy server to connect to the Internet".
5. Click OK on all of the windows.

 

Try to click on ? > About to check if you'll still get the same message. :smileyhappy:

I've done the above, and the Verify error continues on.

 

It said it needs to restart PC for the proxy settings to take place, I did it and the "Verify" error still happens.

Still get the "This update is not compatible with your current security update"

You may try to reinstall the Trend Micro program, here's how:

If it is still gives you the same error message, you may apply the hotfix that was initially gave you a message that it is not compatible.

Installation Incomplete

 

A problem prevented the installer from completely setting up Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2012. No changes have been made to your computer

 

Error Code: #1603, 3002, 0x00e0220014

 

 

 

This is after I restarted the PC from uninstalling with nothing else running. Tried it several times, always the same.

Please run the diagnostic toolkit to uninstall the Trend Micro program, the error message appears because some files may have not been removed. Here's how:

Please also consider doing the steps below for clearing out possible Trend Micro remnants:

1. Delete the Trend Micro folder in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data folder for Windows XP or C:\Program Data folder for Windows Vista or Windows 7.

2. Delete the Trend Micro folder from C:\Program Files.

3. Go to Start > Run or Start Search.

4. Type "regedit" on the Open field, then press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

5. Go to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software

6. Delete the Trend Micro folder registry entry.

 

After you have finished the steps, apply the hotfix below and then you may again try to run the installation.

I followed the steps outlined above - still got the "Installation Incomplete" from before

 

A problem prevented the intstaller from completely setting up Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2012. No changes have been made to your computer.

 

Please close any other programs currently open before restarting the installer.

 

(Error code: #1603, 3002, 0x00e0220014)

 

 

- same error as before, and this is after a fresh restart with no other programs running (even checked task manager to make sure).

Did the same thing as before :

And attempted to install from the link you provided, again it finished the initial scan, began to install. Agan the same thing happened "Installation Incomplete"

I've even restarted the computer after deleting the files and clearing everything in order to make sure there isn't anything on the memory - but the same error came up when I tried to install.

 

I think a virus could have got through since when I checked my windows Firewall (the windows defender one) it was deactivated, and when I tried to access it I received an error on it. I ran the full Housecall scan (Full not quick) several times an it came up with nothing. (i've redownloaded it 3-4 times after computer restarts).

 

If it helps, the error code windows defender is giving me is:

 

Error Code 0x80070424 with Windows Firewall, Defender in Windows 7

 

The last time everything was working fine was about a week ago and I recall running a full scan with Trend Micro just before that. I haven't downloaded anything recently either, so I haven't the slightest idea how or what got in.

Before reinstalling Trend, pass Ccleaner after unistalling and restarting. Tell me if that works.
