Browser redirecting

I have had some issues with my searches randomly taking me to different sites.  this happens in IE and Firefox.  I have run malwarebytes, superanti-spyware, and spybot s&d.  I run MS Security Essentials as my virus protection.  I have run all of the above in safe mode, finding nothing.  Cleared out temp files, browser caches, etc.  The redirect seems to be random.  Any help would be HUGELY appreciated!

Re: Browser redirecting

MadMyk, you should download and run Microsoft Malicious software removal tool. I bet browser redirects were caused by Alureon or TDSS trojans. MSRT should remove Alureon virus from your computer. Also please read these posts about search redirect virus and how to remove it:

Good luck!

Re: Browser redirecting

Hi MadMyk,

Your hijackthis log file seems clean.  Redirection might be a cause of rootkit or DNS poisoning which sometimes is not visible ont his log.

Please give additional information about the redirection. How often are you being redirected?  If its random, what sites are you visiting?

If you have a router, please check the DNS setting of it. Or you might want to reset the router just to make sure.

I suggest you run a HouceCall <> to further check if the computer is infected.

Hope this helps.
