Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

Hi Sakura,

Is http://esupport.trendmicro.com/solution/en-us/1057568.aspx. also a fix for the ones using 2011 ver 3.1 or is it just for the Open Worry-Free Business Security?

Is this issue fixed if I update to the 2012 version?

Thanks in advance. :smileyhappy:

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

Hi tak,

The solution you have provided is only for Worry Free Business Security. This will not work for your Trend Micro Titanium 2011 version 3.1.

To answer your question, ideally, the Titanium 2012 version should fix this issue. The 2012 version resolves most of the issues that we encountered in the 2011 version. I would also suggest that you look at the system requirements for the 2012 version before upgrading the program to 2012:

Hope this helps.

All the best,

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

I had no problems with coreServiceShell while using 2011 but now that I upgraded to 2012 my entire system has slowed down. My system exceeds the minimum requirements for the new version. Is anyone aware of a potential fix for this?

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

I have the same problem with TMTIS 2012. It hogs up to 147 MB and slows down the system. Furthermore, TMTIS 2012 takes to long to start up. Hopefully it will be fixed in the future versions.:smileyhappy:

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

Looks like the coreserviceshell.exe problem still has no solution. I've tried the hot fix links, none seem to actually install on my computer.

I've been a loyal Trend Micro customer for years and am really disappointed in TM's dismal response to this issue.

Am I missing something?

Do I need to switch to Norton? (God I hope not)

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

Hi everyone,

Please try to install the hotfix given on this link:

Please take note that it is only for Trend Micro Titanium 2012 version.

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

Hi, I currently am running Trend Micro Titanium 2012 with the latest version Version 5.2 1035 - USO3037004.1232.

I have noticed that the coreServiceShell.exe usage has become extremely high and seems to be interfering with my computer's performance, and I am finding after a while the mouse cursor will turn to the windows blue ring and just keep spinning and is unresponsive. The only recourse is to reboot, and try again. Invariably though the issue keeps recurring.

I have tried the hotfixes, however it fails to install, with some message that it's not compatible with my version. Can someone please help.

[ Edited ]

Hi se7en

I have Trend Micro Titanium 2012 which I installed a few weeks back. I'm also having terrible problems with the coreServiceShell.exe using all the system resources and slowing my computer.

I tried to install the Hot Fix you suggested but for some unknown reason it keeps saying This update is not compatible with your security software.

I am running Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2012

Version: 5.2.1035 - USO5050006.1058

Type: Full version

It's slowing down all 4 computers it's installed on, and everyone is unhappy with it.

All the computers are compatible and have more than the required resources recommended.

Please help!

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

Hi miamiheat33,

The hotfix only works on Titanium 5.0. You can try uninstalling the program, then install Titanium 2012/5.0. Then apply the hotfix immediately without waiting for it to update since updating makes it go again to 5.2.

Hope this helps.

Re: coreServiceShell.exe High CPU

Hi Coy25

thanks for your quick reply!

Just checking, if I uninstall and reinstall will my product key still be valid?

Thanks
