Trend is scanning lots of outgoing email...but I haven't sent any

Trend started giving me loads (1 every 5 minutes or so, sometime several in a minute) of scanning outgoing email pop ups. Problem is that I'm not sending that much email. I disabled the notification b/c it was driving me crazy. But I'm worried about just what the heck this outgoing mail is. Anyone else encounterd this?
