hi all,
the solution article (The main console of my Trend Micro Titanium 2011 shows that my protection is disabled) has been updated...
if you have run the hotfix and it didn't work for you, please do the following:
1. Uninstall your Titanium program.
2. Install the hot fix after your Titanium program has been uninstalled.
3. Click the program you are using below:
·Titanium AntiVirus+ or Titanium Smart Surfing for PC
4. Click Save, then select Desktop as the location to download the file.
5. Go to your desktop, then look for the file you downloaded.
6. Right-click the file, then select Extract here.
7. Wait as the program extracts the contents of the file.
8. Open the TtiFull folder, then double-click the Setup.exe file.
9. Follow the prompts to reinstall the program.
let us know if this works for you
cheers ![]()

Tried the updated fix. Here's how it works: It doesn't.
These half-baked fixes are a total time-suck. I have installed Windows Defender and Malwarebytes on one of the problem machines, and AVG on another.
And I tried to get support for the product my client paid for but apparently I have to pay for support for my paid product. Funny how that works. I would be okay if it were a free product and I had to pay for support, but shouldn't I be getting free support for a paid product. Worse yet, I'm not asking for support for some alternate implementation. I just want to install the product itself.
Let me know if anyone has success. Then I'll wait for a half-dozen people to report success. And then I'll try it. I just don't have another 2 hours to waste installing and uninstalling and rebooting and then ending up having to install another AV program just to keep the computer protected.

If you under 30 days on purchase ASK For you money back, don't mess around with fixes on this forum and then waste time emailing support, so your 30 days goes by.
I went through EVERYTHING on this thread, and then was told to contact support, did that and another 10 days of dicking around (they only reply to you every 12 hrs or so) and NOTHING, then was told to contact Level 2 person. Called and demanded money back but guess what? Was over 30 days and in order to get money back had to allow Level 2 person to access and try to fix the issue
AFTER almost 7 HOURS of this person messing around, She tried to tell me that the XP on the laptop is NOT compatible with TMS OR PRO Version. Oh and because of her messing around, and losing the display drivers and her having me punch this key and that key, Windows will NOT Boot up, the Recovery Partition is damaged and you can not do a system restore from the hard drive NOR the CD as you need the partition on the HD to do the system recovery.
How many people are still using XP and not converted to the others? LOTS, you would think they would test the product on ALL XP before rolling it out.
Course they are going to deny their person screwed up the laptop, but hey it was PERFECTLY FINE until their "tech" got into it and messed around!! I already have conformation from a good computer tech what they did to mess things up but think TM will buy a OP CD so we can reload the system?? (the cd's with this only are RECOVERY, and contain the OS but you need the Partition that is damaged to recover it and of coure since the laptop is 4 yrs old, the company no longer has the CD for it and MS no longer supports the version (Tablet version)
Ask for you money back and go with another virus program, DO NOT DO NOT allow any TM Tech to gain Acess to your computer!! I did not want to, argued with email support but finally to get money back had to allow them in, NEVER EVER will that happen again.
still have no working laptop
but will keep demanding or go to Facebook ![]()
VERY DISGRUNTLED FORMER TM Customer
(PS Before this I was a LOYAL TM customer for 2yrs before they changed things and made a nightmare)

@locarumo: Thanks for the 411. Both clients are past 30 days.
Similar to the recent downfall of TrendMicro, Norton used to be great, many years ago. Then they made bloatware and I stopped using and recommending them. (I am a computer tech.) Lately, Norton versions have been clean.
Same with IBM computers. When they switched to Lenovo, products and software and tech support all dropped off.
Good luck with the attempted recovery of your data.

I bought "Titanium Maximum Security" at June 11th - almost 9 months after the problem of "Disabled protection" was first reported. And what do you think? - I HAVE GOT THE SAME PROBLEM!!!
Don't you think it's was not enough time to implement the "hot" solution ?
By the way, the "hot fix" DOES NOT WORK to me.
I don't have time to play with the buggy program.
I thought it will work without my assistance, like it was couple yours ago.

Hi! igoivo
Do you have any files on your computer of other protection, if any take them off.
If you really can't do it call : 1-800-864-6027 and a engineer will come on your computer and fix it.
Be patient, they are very nice.
Have a nice day and keep on Trend Micro, you can not have better protection.

Hi RobertDitLeBob.
No I don't have any other protection installed in my XP SP3 computer. I also checked by DrWeb CureIt that I did not have any viruses befor Titanium program installation. Actually, the program worked to me for an hour after the FIRST installation (then it crashed). But I never managed to get it working after other installations. I think it's because a lot of trash (at least 27 entries, see the picture attached) left in my registry after every uninstallation. But I don't have time and intension to check it. I just need a working version.
