They told me I would need to upgrade any security software I had to one that will protect higher speed FIOS system. Essentially, they said that most security software cannot protect data moving at significantly higher speed. I am presently with a cable internet provider, the speed is 12.5 Mbps, and I'm going to FIOS with 25 Mbps. I currently have Trend Micro Internet Security, full version. Just wondering if I'm being sold down the river to buy their Verizon security system.

lol that's the first time i've heard of that. Your ISP is probably giving you some sales talk. Trend Micro has many levels of protection. It can even block the the malware before it gets in to your system and internet speed has nothing to do with it
