I have been trying to install Windows 7 as an upgrade. You can do this with the Ultimate version. But, it keeps telling me to uninstall Trend Micro Internet Security 2008. I have never had 2008 installed on this computer as it is a 64-bit. I started out fresh with 2009. Yesterday I upgraded to 2010. Still no luck. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Trend Micro Internet Security 4 times. I even deleted all reference to Trend Micro Internet Security in the registry. Still, Windows 7 install tells me to delete a program I've never had on this computer.
Any ideas. Thanks.

I'm having a similar issue with a 32 bit upgrade, but I did have IS 2007 installed--two years ago. I've deleted all references in the registry per microsoft support but still nothing. Microsoft says a custom install / archive/install is the only option left. This is ridiculous, the Trend Micro total removal tool does not work.
